I thought about what this might mean for my apps like Mach Dice and Selector. If I transfered those apps to an unscrupulous developer, they could do totally shady things like install cheat codes to get high rolls or favored picks. Can you imagine how terrible (and potentially profitable) that would be?
Fortunately, for the tens of thousands of loyal and trusting customers of my apps, I have integrity. And integrity like that can’t be bought for any amount of money (under $1,000,000).

Don’t do it, Mach! Hang onto your ip, especially Mach Dice. Maybe they’re doing this now with the advent of iOS 7. Have you read this: http://www.marco.org/2013/06/11/fertile-ground
Hah, thanks, Kat. You’re the second person who forwarded me that article! It’s got a lot of good points. Now I just have to upgrade my device to iOS 7 or something…
I am very new to iOS development and while searching the web for examples for rolling dice, I stumbled on your Mach Dice app. WOW! FANTASTIC! I’m envious and now feel even more less than adequate. 🙁
I want to learn. Can you point me into a solid direction so I can learn how to create a dice game with ‘real’ looking rolling dice? Thanks!
Thanks! The best thing to do is to start simple and build up from there. Take a look at the sample code in GLSprite. That shows you how to create a single square with a texture on it. From there, you can build a cube and then start adding animation. Best of luck!
Thanks, Mach! I appreciate your feedback, advice and encouragement! 😀
